A Funny Feeling
I opened the door and took a step in and felt my shoes stick to the floor. The air was thick and rancid with the stench of urine, sweat, and rotting earth that surrounds the openings at the floor. A leaf covered sun roof allows the smallest amount of light trickle in. The burst of light flooding in from the open door sent the cock-roaches scurrying to their hide outs. I could feel my skin crawl as I continued in to stand at the toilet. Fearfully looking down at the water I surprised to see a crystal clean reflection of the ceiling and pristine water filling the bowl of the toilet!
New Home!
I grew up in and around Gainesville, FL for 24 years and in a moments' notice I moved to Tampa, FL! It was a bit of a culture shock to me. You imagine that the only people that really go through a culture shock are those who move from a city with a population in the high hundreds to a city of a population of a few million. That's not always the case and I found that out first hand! I've been here for little over a month now and I've slowly started to see a future for myself here and the city is really starting to grow on me, like a fungus! The change is and will be for the best!
